Introduction

Cleaning your machine's internal ink components is crucial to maintaining optimal performance and prolonging its life, especially if it has not been used for an extended period. Follow these steps to ensure a thorough internal cleaning.

Before Cleaning the Internals, Make Sure to Properly Clean the Maintenace Unit - Roland BT- Cleaning the Maintenace Unit
You will need 4 Cleaning Cartridges corresponding to each ink color
    • BT-CC-BK
    • BT-CC-CY
    • BT-CC-MG
    • BT-CC-YE
Cleaning cartridges are for single use. Do not reuse them, even if liquid remains inside, as it may result in incomplete cleaning.

Steps to Clean the Internals

  1. Prepare the Machine

    • Turn the machine on and ensure it is in the "Ready" state.
    • Confirm that the ink collector unit has sufficient capacity. Replace it with a new ink collector unit if it is almost full or full.
  2. Access the Maintenance Menu

    • Press the [/Menu] key on the control panel.
    • Use the [] or [/Menu] key to navigate to [Maintenance], and press the [Enter] key.
  3. Select Clean Internals

    • Use the [] or [/Menu] key to select [Clean Internals], and press the [Enter] key.
  4. Insert the Cleaning Cartridge

    • Remove the new cleaning cartridges from their boxes.
    • You will need 4 Cleaning Cartridges corresponding to each ink color
      • BT-CC-BK
      • BT-CC-CY
      • BT-CC-MG
      • BT-CC-YE
    • Open the right front cover of the machine.
    • Remove the ink cartridges. Ensure to hold the machine firmly to prevent it from moving.
    • Check the orientation of the cartridges and install the cleaning cartridge carefully.
    • Close the right front cover.
  5. Start the Cleaning Process

    • Press the [] or [/Menu] key to display [Execute], and press the [#Enter] key.
    • Press the [#Enter] key again to start cleaning.
    • The cleaning process will take approximately 16 minutes. Wait while "Maintenance in process..." is displayed.
  6. Finish the cleaning

    • When "Cleaning finish Restart machine" is displayed, hold down the [Power] key to turn off the power.
    • Replace the ink cartridge, turn the machine back on, and provide the initial ink supply.
    • Wait until the message "Ready" appears after the initial ink supply is provided.


Warnings and Precautions

  • Do Not Interrupt: Do not cancel the cleaning process once it has started. The cleaning must be completed before the machine can be used again.
  • Waste Fluid: Cleaning the interior generates a lot of waste fluid. Ensure the ink collector unit has enough capacity to hold it.
  • Single-use cartridges: Cleaning cartridges are for single use. Do not reuse them, even if liquid remains inside, as it may result in incomplete cleaning.
  • Storage: Keep a cleaning cartridge attached to store the machine after cleaning. When using the machine again, replace the cleaning cartridge with a new ink cartridge.

Troubleshooting

  • Failed Cleaning: If cleaning fails, follow the displayed instructions to resolve the issue. Common solutions include resetting or replacing the cleaning cartridge, ensuring the right front cover is closed, and raising the room temperature if necessary.
  • Error Messages: If error messages like "Open Front Cover / Reset Cartridge" or "Prepare new Ink Collector Unit" appear, take the appropriate actions to resolve them before attempting to clean again.

Following these steps will help ensure your machine's internal components are properly cleaned, maintaining its performance and extending its operational life .
