Steps to Clean the Maintenance Unit

  1. Access the Maintenance Menu

    • Press the [/Menu] key.
    • Use the [] or [/Menu] key to navigate to [Maintenance].
    • Press the [#Enter] key.
  2. Select Clean Maint Unit

    • Press the [] or [/Menu] key to select [Clean Maint Unit].
    • Press the [#Enter] key.
    • Wait while "Maintenance in process..." is displayed.
  3. Open the Top Cover

    • When the display shows "Open Top Cover to clean unit," open the top cover.
    • The Maintenance Unit will move to a cleaning position, and the printer's power will turn off automatically.
  4. Clean the Maintenance Unit

    • Wipe off any dirt in the area shown in the figure using the cleaning stick moistened with the cleaning liquid. For the top part of the cap, wipe gently.
    • Wipe the side part, top part, and inner part of the cap until all the solidified ink is removed.
  5. Close the Top Cover

    • After cleaning, close the top cover.
    • Head-cleaning will start after restart, returning the machine to its usual condition.

Warnings and Precautions

  • Do Not Touch: Avoid touching the toothed rubber belt or ink tubes during cleaning. Ensure your sleeves do not get caught in cables or ink tubes.
  • Cleaning Tools: Clean the maintenance unit with the cleaning stick; do not use a cleaning cloth.
  • Dropping Tools: Do not drop the cleaning stick into the machine.
  • Automatic Maintenance: If you haven't cleaned the print head nozzles, proceed to clean them as well.
