VersaWorks 6 is a powerful RIP Software that’s used to drive Roland DG’s most powerful equipment and inkjet technologies. Since its inception, the program has routinely been updated with improvements, new features, and added functionality.
Recently, Job Assistant was added to the program. This tool probably should’ve been called the Cutline Builder as it’s far more powerful than the name suggests. The tool provides an intuitive way to create and modify CutContour and PerfCutContour paths within a PDF that’s had no previous cut line preparations.
To summarize the functionality:
Below, you will find a tutorial outlining how to use these features in detail and apply them within your own workflows.
Ensure VersaWorks Version: Make sure you have VersaWorks version 6.7 installed. You can check the version by going to Help > About.
Prepare Data: Ensure that the data you want to work with is in PDF format and in vector format. If you're unsure about the difference between raster and vector data, you can refer to a previous video for more information.
Launch Job Assistant: Right-click on the file you want to work with and select "Job Assistant" from the menu.
Understand the Interface: Familiarize yourself with the Job Assistant interface. It provides a graphical user interface with various tools for editing cutting lines.

Editing Methods: Understand the different editing methods available:
Perform Editing: Use the chosen editing method to edit the cutting lines according to your requirements. You can adjust parameters such as offset, contour type, and miter limit.
